TH Köln Rebranding

Based on the new corporate identity of University of Applied Sciences Cologne (TH Köln) I created opening titles which reflect the essence of TH Koeln, and could be applied to any video content created for all 12 different faculties. My animation was among the three chosen from our class to be implemented campus-wide.

Overview

Following a complete visual redesign of the University of Applied Sciences Cologne (TH Köln) our team of three designers developed a universal concept for the use of public video content. The outcome is three conceptually connected but visually different animations that are used to present lectures, image movies or events. Each animation was developed and animated by a different member of our team and then finalized together to create a holistic result within the broader concept of the project. The sound design was the same for all three animations.

Challenges

I had to consider how the form, speed, and colors could work together to create a mood reflecting a University which contains twelve different departments ranging from science to art, and technology. 

Solution

I wanted to show the fluidity and interdisciplinary of the University, so the forms smoothly flow over each other while being in a constant state of change.
